BASINGSTOKE CELEBRITY CHEF WINS TOP AWARD
Basingstoke-based chef, Trevor Cruickshank, has won a top award at the British Open Cookery Championships. The awards this year, which are the biggest in Europe, were held in February in London. Trevor won a merit in the Salon Culinary Novelty Cakes section of the awards for the design pictured.
Trevor has been in catering for 13 years and specialises in wedding and novelty cakes. He designed and made novelty cakes for a Windsor restaurant before coming to Basingstoke last year and his clients include several celebrities.
Trevor has also won other awards in the past, including the Slough Black History Month Business of the Year Award. He has taught cookery to young people and formed Cruickshank’s Cakes in 2003.
Trevor commented, “I am delighted to have won this award and to have the opportunity to offer Basingstoke locals a service I enjoy and am extremely proud of.”
